Israel has declared war on Hamas after Hamas attacked a music festival in Israel.
Israel has been oppressing Palestinians for decades now after a war decades ago when, essentially, Palestinians with the help of other Arab countries tried to invade Israel.
This happened, effectively, because the modern Israel was created by western powers on land occupied by the country of Palestine. Read more on Wikipedia.
I am not a historian and I am over simplifying this mess of a situation. I may not understand some of the nuance to either side of this historyline, but right now, right here in the present day, neither side is doing the right thing.
Killing is always wrong but sometimes we have to do it. This is not that time--for either side. "Standing" with Israel or the Palestinians who are committing violence is not the right path. The right path is to stand with peace.
Until both sides put down their weapons and actually work together,
there are only antagonists.
